Group: Board Game Players
Definition: Individuals based in Bath who actively play board games, either as part of established groups or in their own circles of friendship.
Reasons for selecting: As fellow board game fans, we were interested to see that there are number of groups of boardgamers operating informally in Bath. Board games offer people of a range of ages and ability the chance to play games in a social environment. At a point where digital interfaces aid a large amount of game playing, we wanted to celebrate that there are people still actively engaged in this face-to-face hobby.
As part of their project ‘Picture in the Paper’, artists LOW PROFILE searched for all of the people in Bath who actively play board games (either as part of established groups or in their own circles of friendship) bringing them together to make a professional photographic portrait of as many people in this group as possible.
