Group: Independent Retailers
Definition: Independent shop owners, market stall traders and other temporary retailers based in Bath
Reasons for selecting: There are a large number of independent shops in Bath, based predominantly within the centre of the city, adding a distinctive mix and character to the high street. The independents running these businesses have begun to find ways to support and network with each other, offering a generous mutually beneficial relationship to help each other keep going.
As part of their project ‘Picture in the Paper’, artists LOW PROFILE searched for all of the independent retailers, shop owners, market stall traders and other temporary retailers based in Bath, bringing them together to make a professional photographic portrait of as many people in this group as possible.
PHOTO SHOOT DATE: 2nd November 2014
TIME: 16:15 – 17:30
